Joyce starts with ... I made the mistake of getting a contractor to do my edges while I was out. He got carried away and accidentally whipper snipped 2 of my 3 year old almond trees (there are 6 in total lined up out the front). He cut small chunks out of 2 of the trees (taking the outer layer of the trunk), which go about a third of the way around the trunk. Is there anything I can apply to the wounds, to minimise the chance of disease entering the trees? What chance of survival will they have? Is it best to count my losses and replace them as they will be more prone to disease in the future? | About the Author Joyce Sydney 1st September 2009 5:45pm #UserID: 2686 Posts: 5 View All Joyce's Edible Fruit Trees |

Brendan says... Hi Joyce, A hardware store here (Porters, 07 4967 3381), sells it. They also sell lots of fruit trees etc. Bunnings don't have it here. Someone must sell it in Sydney. It comes in a 300g mini tub. Also says: Imported by HTC International Pty Ltd. Ph 03 9436 7115. Fax 03 9436 9468 That must be down your way somewhere :-) Hope that helps. | About the Author Brendan Mackay, Q 5th September 2009 6:15am #UserID: 1947 Posts: 1722 View All Brendan's Edible Fruit Trees |
