Sportkin starts with ... Greetings Kindred Spirits, I've put a walnut tree into the ground and it's 1 metre away from a huge Spruce Pine, it's been there for a long time , and i'm very worried that it may not grow well, i feed it the finest of ingredients, yet i some how feel it may be too close to the pine tree, also feel if i am to pull it out now it's going to kill the walnut tree because It seems very firm into the ground already and has been in there for 2 years, i just hasn't grown, and when it does grow leaves it's only for a very short period of time. If you have any advice it would be much appreciated.

David01 says... Hi Sportkin, You can reduce the risk to remove the tree when it is in dormant (winter). When you remove the plant, dig a trench around the plant. water to soften/loose the soil. Repeat the process (take time 1-2 hours) until the whole root ball is out. Walnut is a very large tree it needs space and may kill other plants growth nearby if it is a black walnut.
