ringelstrumpf starts with ... I've looked a bit around for walnut varieties and there is not much offered here. The local nursery only gets the black one and it gets huge. But all the better ones, mentioned in Gowinski's book, I couldn't find on the net. There is one offered here, Placentia, but I don't know how this variety copes with late frosts and how huge it gets. I read that the spread might be 20 meters, I don't know how the smaller varieties might spread and if you can keep it pruned. Further, I didn't find information on the right pollinator. | About the Author ringelstrumpf1 Blue Mountains 11th February 2011 2:34pm #UserID: 3535 Posts: 148 View All ringelstrumpf1's Edible Fruit Trees |

speedy says... I have 'Tulare', 'Howard', 'Cisco', 'Chandler'. I got them from a guy who propagates them them not far from here. I think he may have a few other cvs. as well. he usually offers them on Black walnut or paradox rootstock. I bought mine as dormant bud on rootstock 30-40cm tall, so they were much cheaper than 2-3yr grafted trees. I'll make some enquiries. If available it would be after they go dormant. snappygecko at gmail dot com I may be able to help if he doesn't do mail order | About the Author Nth Vic 17th February 2011 12:47pm #UserID: 0 Posts: View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |
