Linton starts with ... Good morning how yous going on these cold mornings? Found these fruit and wonder what they are with the strange bumpy skin. Have looked in some books and there are a few things that look similar having the same bumps but it's difficult to find the species thats an exact match. Im also thinking that maybe they are not another species and are simply undernourished fruit that havent developed properly. Could you please provide your valuable opinions which will be held in the highest esteem. Yours humbly!

Linton says... Thank you young master for so astutely recognising these fruit as Makruts. I have only seen the Makruts sold at the local fruit shop for about 60 dollars per kg and they are small and green. So the ones I found being so yellow is what fooled me. There is a picture of bright yellow Makrut fruit on the site of Fair Dinkum Seeds and the shape of the fruit is identical to mine so I’m pretty sure you have correctly distinguished them. The unpeeled fruit are highly perfumed also. There seems to be many uses for these unusual fruit but I have found that if you squeeze a little juice from the Makrut over Black Sapotes that have been cut open, the flavour of the Sapote is somewhat enhanced! | About the Author Linton NOBLE PARK,3174,VIC 12th July 2020 10:53am #UserID: 2286 Posts: 994 View All Linton's Edible Fruit Trees |
