White Sapote varieties?

    7 responses

Is anyone selling any variations of white sapotes? I'm looking for something like a Lemon Gold, but I never see anything but Golden Globe pop up on Daleys over the past few months.

Also does anyone have any information on one called a "maybell's variety" I can't seem to find much info on it, thanks.

Hi Peter91

In order of popularity for white sapotes:

Kampong

Golden Globe
http://www.daleysfruit.com.au/buy/white-sapote-golden-globe-tree.htm

Seedling

Macs Golden

Lemon Gold we haven't sold since 2010 however I am happy to say that on the 9th Oct 15 we grafted 64 of them.

A wild guess would be perhaps Feb/March they could be ready assuming that we have success. Best advice is to make sure you click Notify Me when available to stay updated.

Not sure about Maybell's variety.

Thanks for the info, i've already put myself on the wait list for Macs Golden and Lemon Gold, definitely two varieties i'm interested in and would love to buy from here, I already have a Golden Globe variety from you guys too. I keep checking back daily for new varieties.

I saw Maybell's on Diggers when browsing for W/S varieties and just couldn't find anything about it online anywhere, a bit strange.

Peter91 - you possibly have Maybell mixed up with Suebell that is available in Australia - someone in your area could have one.
PS.Are you the Peter with a forbidden Fruits Cherimoya?

The Maybelle could be a named seedling i saw on diggers too but would really like Jason if hes still about to qualify this as he knows quiet a bit about White Sapotes.

My Wilson Sapote has been acting strangely. First it flowered, well after the others had finished. Then it completely defoliated and lost all it's leaves. Now it has fruits coming on the totally bare branches.

The other varieties also have fruit but did not lose their leaves so I'm wondering if this is normal and if the fruit are going to hold. Thanks.
