Yuzu problems

Brisbane. Recent Yuzu purchase. Some yellowing and shrivelling leaves. Not thriving. Planted in good quality citrus soil mix , well watered. Plenty of sun but could move for more. For a week or two maybe overhydrated due to rains. Removed dish to allow better drainage. Do I need to add dynamic lifter or something like it? Thanks.

Hi David

Oftentimes newly purchased plant sulk for a few weeks even months before they acclimatise to their new environment. I have fruit trees that took a year before they began to take off and get used to their New home. It is called transplant shock and its normal even for humans. Anyhow if you bought a premium potting mix you don't need to fertiliser it for at least 6 months due to the nutrients already present in the premium potting mix. If you bought a cheap soil then you need to add a bit of fertilizer around the plant. Don't be overly concerned if it's not doing anything at the moment. It's just trying to sort things out at the moment away from the usual comfort of the nearly perfect environment of a nursery including the expert staff.
Happy gardening 😎
