Most Avocados with long necks like that are seedlings. Looks a tasty one though.

Btw I had eaten avocados that have very small seeds No idea what type of avocado. I am trying to germinate those seeds at the moment. Does anyone know which avocados have relatively small seeds?

Blanch says Yes I planted this grafted avocardo i tree in 2006 in my garden and it is has been an up and down result ... It was far too tall for us to reach the fruit 2years ago and we pruned it to a more accessible size.

So the jury is still out as to which type of avocardo tree ? All guesses will be thankfully pondered over.

Thithi says...
Not a wurtz (wurtz has drooping branch)
Not a hass or secondo (skin texture)
Not a Pinkerton ( horizontal branch)
Did you buy it from Daley? If so you could narrow down the varieties or perhaps daley may have records of what their customers have bought

What's Secondo look like? Just wondering because its something you can buy grafted but not a commercial variety. No commercial variety will ever be that shape with a seed that large.

I could believe its a seedling of Fuerte but its not Fuerte, wrong texture for starters and fuerte has a distinctly matte finish. Plus it has less neck.

Blanch Says .... It was a gift for our new house...they bought it from Engall,s Nursery at Dural ... and came with a tag that said it was Hass ..

Markmelb It was grafted when it was gifted..... but the 2 photos you sent me are great ....when I look very closely at your photos the speckled or tiny dotty effect on the skin is also on my avocado but smaller and paler

Blanch - great information - since skin is green when ripe - means not a Hass that have purple to black skin as you know - so more likely a Fuerte - Hass are also a bit knobbly skinned as well not smooth like yours - the flesh of yours looks like my Fuerte to - some of mine have large or small seeds too - get yourelf a Lamb Hass to put near it - a more compact large fruited hass type
