citrus tree relocation

Is it worthwhile digging up and replanting two semi mature citrus trees?? I wonder when I think of the amount of digging needed. The trees are about 2 metres tall and 2 metres in diameter...
I have considered hiring a mini excavator for the job ( $300).
Does anyone know where I could buy and price the purchase of semi mature citrus trees to see if it is worth while? I might be better off just buying 2 new and cutting the old ones down ( seems like a waste!)

Hi.
You could give to a go, but it would be a lot of hard work or quite expensive.
Citrus are fast growers and can reach an established 2x2m from store bought in about 4 years give or take. At best in optimal conditions a commercially grown citrus can reach a full size of 4m in 5 years. Just buy new ones.
