djw2189 starts with ... My Black Sapote is in trouble. I have no idea what is wrong as I have tested the soil and it is okay, it is definitely not winter here in Florida, and no where on the internet I can find an answer to this. I am including pictures for people to look at. It is a 4 year old tree and has been fine up till now.

denise1 says... I dont think it is too serious. Some blackening is expected with members of the ebony family. Did you let it dry out a bit to cause the dieback or has it stressed from heat and dry? Anyway just cut the dead bits off with a bit of green stem with it and maybe put some compost or mulch under it. If you are expecting new growth it could be time for some fertilizer. With fertilizer it is a general rule that plants do better with a little more often than a big dump all at once as some trees are susceptible to root burn. | About the Author denise1 auckland NZ 6th July 2016 7:03am #UserID: 6832 Posts: 688 View All denise1's Edible Fruit Trees |
