Alex Scone starts with ... We're in a suburban block in Scone NSW, we have reasonably chilly winters and i'm wanting to plant in three spots only. I'd like a plum, cherry and apples(not green apples thou). I'm torn between duo planting and multi-grafted trees, probably leaning towards duo but am very open. One of the spots will be quite exposed to the southern winds we get up the valley here. Which of the three types of trees would cope best/worst please. And variety suggestion's if we went duo planting. We like blood red plums best but enjoy all plums, love all cherries and gala/pink lady apples are our families favorite from the shops. Looking forward to growing our own however. thank you | About the Author Alex Scone Scone 22nd April 2014 9:03pm #UserID: 9846 Posts: 2 View All Alex Scone's Edible Fruit Trees |

Hi - Go Multigraft or 3 in one hole - see flemmings site - apples are quite hardy to wind - as i have similar - go 3 in hole PL - Gala - opalescent (very tasty) and sam with plums or graft like I have at least 6 plum and prune grafts on non productive plumcot - Dwarf trees are also great and getting great fruit from a pinkabelle - 2 years and 20 apples - good growing - Mark | About the Author Markmelb , 22nd April 2014 9:26pm #UserID: 7785 Posts: 1192 View All Markmelb's Edible Fruit Trees |
