It should grow down there but I don't know if it will hold its fruit. In Kyogle it appears to do very well but at my place Eden NSW it fruits heavily and then all the fruits fall off before ripening. It is next to another mulberry that fruits very well so the spot is okay. I believe it is also not a Morus nigra as labeled but a black fruited version of Morus alba the Chinese mulberry. Last week I cut down this tree and put round up on the stump. I am massive fan of nearly all of Daley's trees but not this one. I think Hicks Fancy that Daley's sell is more reliable in a range of climates it also ripens over a long period. It needs summer punning though to keep the fruit on the lower branches and the tree shorter.

Yes the Dwarf Black Mulberry will grow and fruit in Victoria. I usually get two crops on it, the first one in early Spring and another in Summer. I'm also growing Hicks Fancy but the Dwarf Black is much more rampant and fruits prolifically, while I expect the Hicks may take a bit longer to mature.

The Dwarf Black Mulberry is ready to fruit from the word go, and when I first got it, it grew about 3 metres in 3 months and was higher than the roof so I cut it right back to less than 1 metre and you can see how it is now in the picture. It is kept in a pot to try to keep it smaller and under control as it needs to be netted when fruiting.

The Hicks Fancy is also in a large pot and I'm am a little worried how big it will get if planted in the ground as it is not classed as a dwarf variety. So, like many of the Mulberry trees around here they can become massive and impossible to reach the fruit or to net. There's one gigantic tree near my place and right now as we speak, the whole of that front garden and footpath are covered in a huge mess of squashed and half-eaten berries, not to mention all the birds, bats and other wildlife that are gorging on them. Hope this helps.
