The biggest and best ginkgos I know are growing on the southern side of the Treasury Building in Canberra next to the access ramp. They would have to be seedlings because they produce masses of smelly fruit.

I have collected seeds there and had good results and no-one came out to arrest me while I was collecting.

If they grow out in the open there Bendemeer should be no challenge at all. The only reason grafted males are used in landscaping is to avoid the ground being covered in smelly fruit. They do smell a bit like vomit, but I have a fairly sensitive stomach, and I really don't find it too offensive in the open.
