denise1 says... To assist mango to fruit put on leaves a solution of 10g/litre of pottassium nitrate in water. To encourage flies to come and pollenate flowers, put out some bits of fish or liver in the shade under the tree. Mango trees in India will flower and set in the dry season and then the final filling up etc happens when the rain comes. You may need to irrigate to develop the fruit. There may be additional ways. | About the Author denise1 auckland NZ 12th February 2016 7:49am #UserID: 6832 Posts: 688 View All denise1's Edible Fruit Trees |

Bangkok says... Potassiumnitrate is mostly sprayed at 3% if i remember correctly. You can spray it when you want it to bloom, before the summer i suppose. Mancozeb you can spray when the flowers are growing but not yet open. Better read the manual first. It's normal that many mango's drop before maturity. Just make sure the tree is fed well and gets it's micro's. If they are really small maybe you need to water it more during fruitgrowth? If you want to graft it then cut the tree or a branch and let it sprout. Then you can graft on the new sprout. Best to do it in spring but i don't know your climate. I graft all year but here it's always summer. You can also try to graft on the main stem, budgrafting or just a scion. That's more hard though. I would only graft if i didn't like the mango, small size seems to be another issue with nutrition/water/light i would think. Or you pick half of the mango's off so the rest grows bigger. Small ones can taste the best sometimes. We can buy huge ones here but they aren't the best ones for taste. | About the Author Bangkok Thailand 6th March 2016 7:04am #UserID: 11594 Posts: 370 View All Bangkok's Edible Fruit Trees |
