adrian_aum starts with ... Thea, I live in Bali, Indonesia. i have land in the hills of north Bali and am most interested to start a small goji berry plantation approx. 1/2hectare in size. But, maybe you can help me determine if this would be a suitable place to grow them and mainly that THEY WILL FRUIT! i have already started many seedlings about 4 months ago. they do grow from seed here but I am wondering if they will fruit without a full dormancy period. my land can get very cool in the night time.. but never and frost. my land elevetion is approx. 250m above sea level. Bali is 8°south of the equator. I hope you will offer any input or suggestions. kind regards, Adrian | About the Author adrian_aum bali 2nd November 2015 7:25pm #UserID: 12652 Posts: 1 View All adrian_aum's Edible Fruit Trees |
denise1 says... From experience of growing them in New Zealand, most seedlings fruited poorly, and most that grew well initially, died completely after about three years. You may need to grow a hundred seedlings to find a really good one suitable for both fruiting and surviving. I have seen goji growing in coastal areas and have seen photos of them growing on flat alluvial soils looking very well. | About the Author denise1 auckland NZ 3rd November 2015 4:34pm #UserID: 6832 Posts: 688 View All denise1's Edible Fruit Trees |
