Robert Aitkenhead starts with ... I have had a loquat tree in a pot on the verandah for the past 3 years which was grown from a seed. It looks very healthy and is about a meter high. I now would like to plant it out, but what are its chances in the cold of the Central Highlands of Tasmania and will it bear fruit. Any advice would be appreciated (including fertilisers and watering). Thank you. | About the Author Robertbronte Bronte Park, Tas. 2nd September 2008 11:46pm #UserID: 1311 Posts: 4 View All Robertbronte's Edible Fruit Trees |
Anonymous says... It should fruit well for you - they don't need a pollinator either. I'd give it a bit of protection for its first couple of winters, but my established tree in the mountains of Victoria is covered in ice every winter and still fruits well. Feed it heavily (manure) and it should take off. | About the Author 3rd September 2008 9:04am #UserID: 0 Posts: View All 's Edible Fruit Trees |
