Alison starts with ... Hi, I just had a large lemon scented gum removed from my backyard (it wasn't well) and was looking to replace it with a Pecan, partly for me, partly for the birds and partly for the summer shade and winter sun. I live in one of the Eastern Suburbs of Perth (not the hills) and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good variety for this area - long hot summers, mild winters - no frost. I am near a lake so readily available water for it. I only have room for one tree though so one that reliably self pollinates would be good :) Cheers Alison | About the Author tiggywinkle Perth 3rd July 2012 3:46pm #UserID: 7055 Posts: 3 View All tiggywinkle's Edible Fruit Trees |

Phil@Tyalgum says... Cheyenne, Cherokee, Moore and Pabst will produce crops on a single tree. Witchita & Tejas both prefer hotter, drier climates. So maybe one of the first four trees would suit if there is ample water, as they are typically a riverside tree in their natural habitat.
