JCoffee starts with ... I was wondering if you could help - my friend is getting married and I'd love to get her a coffee tree for them to nurture as they have just opened their new cafe. They live in Leura in the blue mountains. I live in England.... is there any way I could purchase a coffee tree and have it delivered to them? If yes, which tree would you recommend and roughly how much would it cost to purchase and deliver... is there any way of naming it after them? I'm not sure if this is similar to naming roses? Any advice you could give would be really helpful. I look forward to hearing from you. JohnMc1 says... That's a nice thought JCoffee, but unfortunately there may be a problem. Leura is far from being an ideal climate for growing a coffee plant. Coffee is injured by frost and Leura gets many. You could consider getting them a dwarf variety and ask them to keep it indoors beside a sunny window, over winter at least. Daley's plant nursery will send a plant to Leura, no question, you need to contact them via their shop on the top left hand corner. | About the Author JohnMc1 Warnervale NSW 15th July 2014 8:36am #UserID: 2743 Posts: 2043 View All JohnMc1's Edible Fruit Trees |
MaryT1 says... JohnMc is right, JCoffee - you would be better off getting them some Tea Camellia to grow as a hedge, perhaps? They can also grow them in a planter. They have small glossy leaves (for making tea) and sweet small flowers in pink or white. I see that Daleys have five left in megatubes at $12.95 each. http://www.daleysfruit.com.au/search.php?q=Tea+Plant | About the Author MaryT1 Sydney 15th July 2014 8:52am #UserID: 7655 Posts: 296 View All MaryT1's Edible Fruit Trees |
