Hi Any recommendations for a cumquat variety that has sweet peel and sweet flesh? I have read differing reviews on the meiwa and nagami.

At its best Meiwa gets sweeter than Nagami.

Thanks Jakfruit. I have bought a meiwa that was advertised as sweet from one place but at another place, the seller recommended the nagami. The second place actually stocked both the meiwa and nagami. Both these plants were bought as gifts so I have not tasted any fruit.
Is it a case of 'depends' on the tree iself or Meiwa will be sweet if you let it ripen on the tree?

Meiwa is sweet in both flesh and skin while the Nagami has a sweet flesh with the counterbalance of sourish flesh.

Take care to bag fruit or cover tree, fruit flies.
