Tick killing product from 60/70s still be in soil?

Hi, Recently upon chatting with my neighbour, the neighbour advised that the previous owner of my property back in the 60's and early 70's would use a product over his lawn that would stop ticks coming into his backyard… (the house backs onto bushland)… As an organic gardener i wonder what product may have been typically used for this purpose around that time? and also whether it would be persistent in the soil to this day/ affecting the fruit trees and vegetables/ whether it would make them safe to eat to this day???

Dieldrin? rogor? malathion?

Wollongong gets enough rainfall and is warm enough that I think you'd be safe now, but have a bit of a dig around and see if there are earthworms. They are quite sensitive to persistent pesticides, so if there are plenty there the problem has passed.
