Mark starts with ... Hi, I have a Sunshu nashi planted into the ground about a month ago in Brisbane. Good draining soil, has been fertilized (not too much), gets water daily. The leaves are turning black in patches and falling off. The underside is brown where the topside black patches are other wise the leaves look healthy. Almost looks like they are bruised. There are no bumps like pear scab. No new growth unlike other trees planted at the same time. I have sprayed with a copper solution. Does anyone know what this might be and how to help it? Thanks

Brain says... Yes tropical nashi does fruit in brisbane. This just felt down from the rain 'storm' and the black spots are from previous hail damage. Its a bit small but next year should be better. This has taken like 3 or 4 years, but at least we now know its possible! (Though cant say the same about the ya li nashi)
