Hi Daniel. We had a walnut tree as children in Sydney (bankstown) as children. It was grown from a small tree and grew rapidly and produced good nuts from about 8 years of age. So you should do well. Its a beautiful tree and very large. Good luck Lisa

Thankyou for that Lisa.

Bankstown is only 20 minutes drive from Cecil park so should be easy.

Daniel.

Hello again guys, well it's been months since I planted the wall nut trees. They've since had leaves dry up and fall off in the winter and now they look dry. No leaves or branches remain. When do they usuall grow leaves in the time of year? Or should I assume that they've dried up & died?

Thank you.

It may just be a late variety Daniel, don't give up yet, one of my walnuts is still dormant at this time and will be for a few weeks yet. If you try a little fingernail scratch on the stem you'll soon see if it's still alive or not. It will be green underneath.

thanks Jantina, i found out just y/day that 1 of 2 has dried up. i know this because i broke a small bit off. it snapped easily and was all dry inside :(
i left it in the ground but just watered it having hope that maybe it may grow a little in a few weeks.

dont know what else i can do to restore it. the other one is still quite flexible, i watered it y/day and will be back tommorrow to do the same. but still dont know why theyre so late. no leaves or branches yet.
