Water Chestnuts

    1 responses

Carol S starts with ...
My Chinese water chestnuts were grown as per instructions however when tasted they have a stringy/fibreous texture and are quite inedible. had a massive crop, (seven and a half kilos) from six corms, grown in an old bathtub. Does anyone know why this 'stringyness' has occurred? We did have a very very hot, long summer.

Wow, that's a heck of a return from 6 corms!

Where did the original corms come from?
Perhaps they aren't what you think they are.

Mine are never fibrous (apart from the skin).
