Jonathan8 starts with ... Hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone can help me out or who has had any experience in successfully growing wax jambu before. My little potted wax jambu tree had 80 buds, all flowered successfully, and now in the fruiting stage. However we have just had non stop rainfall in sydney and i have lost around 5 developing fruit dropping to the ground, quite upsetting... Was wondering if it was caused from too much rainfall, or my little potted plant is still too young to handle all those fruit? Its currently 2 yrs old purchased fr daleys. Should i fertilise to encourge fruit set? Pls help thanks | About the Author Jonathan8 NSW 31st January 2013 8:12am #UserID: 5250 Posts: 10 View All Jonathan8's Edible Fruit Trees |
denise1 says... I have a young wax jambu too. A seedling about five years old. I wish I had about 75 flowers on it. Very often a tree takes a few years to get the hang of fruiting. If you are the impatient type then I suggest planting some crops that are quicker to fruit as well so you are not discouraged while you wait for others. And be glad for the sake of any flocks of parrots that want their piece of the action too. | About the Author denise1 auckland NZ 31st January 2013 11:23am #UserID: 6832 Posts: 688 View All denise1's Edible Fruit Trees |

Hi denise, ive been very patient with this plant i was pretty surprised it actually fruiting this early, just keeping my hopes up the fruits will stay on for me...these are the remaining of the unripe fruit at the moment. Im still deciding wether i should fertilise at this stage... Hopefully ur tree will start to fruit soon | About the Author Jonathan8 NSW 31st January 2013 3:28pm #UserID: 5250 Posts: 10 View All Jonathan8's Edible Fruit Trees |
