When to pick pumpkins - I only grow Kent/Jap pumpkins and I don't wait for the vine to die before harvesting. I find that you can harvest anytime that the white markings on the pumpkin have taken on an orange hew. I've heard its OK to eat them immediately but I prefer to harde..4792 days 3hrs
