Apricot Bacterial Canker?

    1 responses

Woodstone Farm starts with ...
Our apricot tree is looking terrible . last year it had wilting leaves in summer , we got a few fruit . but this year leaves are wilting , whole tree looks like it will die. almost no flowers . there is no ooze or gum , we can’t detect any sweet smell and i’m not sure whether it started from the bottom out or from the top down . Is this bacterial canker or phytophlora? The tree is espalieres and the trunk is affected so we can’t just cut a canker or branch off.. we have the space to leave it and see but we are concerned it may spread to its neighboring plums apples and other apricot ( which looks droopy as well) . do we need to cut it down ? or at other suggestions
