david b starts with ... Hi, whilst transplanting my persimmon tree I have broken off the tap root. it still has lots of survice roots however I am wondering if it will survive? Any suggestions. the tree was in a 10ltr bag and I had planted it 1mth prevoiusly but I felt it was too exposed to the elements this is the reason I wanted to move it. many thanks david | About the Author david b newcastle 4th May 2010 7:26am #UserID: 3688 Posts: 1 View All david b's Edible Fruit Trees |

John I says... Hi David, one more suggestion... the tap root provides support for the tree. You may want to consider protecting the tree from strong winds, and pruning to keep the tree compact. This should help prevent the tree from blowing over. You may also want to consider espaliering the tree to keep the tree more compact and for added support. | About the Author JohnI Melbourne 7th May 2010 7:32am #UserID: 1975 Posts: 248 View All JohnI's Edible Fruit Trees |
