Violet_Cactus says... Hi Tom, there's some info on growing Carob here http://www.carob.com.au/growing and here http://fennerschool-associated.anu.edu.au/fpt/nwfp/carob/carob.html I would say they will grow well in Northern Vic because there's a nursery in the Dandenongs that grows them and if trees can handle winters in the mountains they must be fairly tough. | About the Author VioletCactus1 12th August 2011 7:47pm #UserID: 516 Posts: 349 View All VioletCactus1's Edible Fruit Trees |

allybanana says... Cover them in winter while they are young if you get heavy frosts, stepdads carob got a bit of scorching in Canberra this winter. Try the carob guys out at limestone station they have some good grafted varieties http://www.carobtrees.com.au/ . I ordered for myself and a few mates it turned out quite economical. Colin there is very happy to answer questions on commercial production. | About the Author allybanana Eden 12th August 2011 9:22pm #UserID: 4544 Posts: 372 View All allybanana's Edible Fruit Trees |
