Hi Smiffy

When I was living in Tamworth NSW which has pretty much same weather as Dubbo, scorching long hot summer and cold winters I managed to grow fruit trees like jujube, pomegranate, figs, feijoa, jaboticaba, white sapote, lemon and mulberry. My neighbor had mandarin and avocado fruiting abundantly. With vines you can't go wrong with grapes. It's up to the grower what you want to eat. You have to irrigate them consistently during their first few years until they become established.
Happy gardening 😎
