AndyJonesy1 starts with ... Hiya, I'm looking to buy a macadamia tree for some friends as a gift. They are currently renting with a view to buy property in the next few years. So I'm looking to get a macadamia variety that can live in a pot for a while before needing to be planted. Either that or one that is happy to be uprooted and relocated later. I'm looking at the "e;MACADAMIA - A16"e; at the moment from this site. Any advice would be appreciated. David01 says... Hi AndyJonesy1, I have A16 in ground and it grows at the rate approx. 1m a year in Melbourne, may be taller in QLD. yes, you can keep it in a pot for 2-3 years and should be okay. As the size of the tree will depend on the size of the pot. However, you may need to repot it with a bigger size if keep more than 3 years.
