What Native Food Tree

Found this interesting bush tucker tree in fruit in early August just south of Dunbar Station Qld. on the Kennedy Development Road at the lower western part of Cape York. Do you know what it might be? Could it be the rare native Wampee? Grateful for any help in identifying this tree. It was heavily cropped. The Burdekin Plum was also in full fruit and other native bush food trees.

Hi Bidgee

Looks like Nonda Plum, Parinari nonda. I've been looking for these for years. Do you still have any seeds you could send me? Thanks.

No and I am kicking myself ever since. I thought about it about an hour further on and felt it too late ti turn back. It was laden.

Cheers
