Red bayberry - I got mum to take me to see the specimen. Unfortunately it isn't myrica, but arbutus spp - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arbutus; the leaves are much smaller and serrated. Bit disappointing, but still an interesting find. I'd be interested to find out if..4751 days 18hrs
