Alot of these are trial and error. We have very clayey soil with poor drainage so most things are planted in mounds.

Black sapote not growing - Anyone! My Black Sapote is a Rick's late and for the 2 seasons it's been in the ground it has dropped it's flower buds, when it was first planted it struggled due to a too soggy clay area, so we lifted it and built it up on a mound. Seems to be doing..6056 days 18hrs

bought as tree tubes, lost 3 due to inattention/rabbits, remaining 1 is starting to establish. Keeping a watchful eye as I am very keen to see it's fruiting potential

Rick has had a troubled start to life due to our poor drainage, we have had to lift the root ball twice to ensure better drainage. However, Rick is starting to thrive fooliage wise now and has been in the ground approximately 18 months.
