About My Edible Backyard

Why Sandy2 Love's Edible Plants

Hi everyone,

I have a small orchard, in the back yard, mainly. The soil type is clay, with a foot or so of loam soil ontop. Very hard to grow anything in.

I try to grow as much as possible, in the limited space, I have, but not all grow well.

I have 1 tahitian lime. 1 Genoa fig, 2 strawberry guavas, in pots. 1 K1 coffee plant, in ground. Also the yacon has grown very well, and have got a few tubers off it, and already split it, and re-planted.

Just 1 of the 2 hazelnut trees I got from Daley's, not sure what happened to the other , just have Halls Giant left now..

Maybe the cold or frost here, sets back, or kills off, not sure.

The photo was taken at a Flower Power store across the road, from us, where we met Don Burke, from Burke's Backyard. I'm a widow, who likes to garden, grow herbs, roses, and fruit trees, and collect succulents. I also do crafts, like fishing and the outdoors.
