About My Edible Backyard

Why LittleEden1 Love's Edible Plants

This is my first garden and is currently 2 1/2 years old, It has been hard work but I am absolutely hooked on gardening now and spend all my spare time out in the garden. My aim is to have a large variety of fruit trees as well as our vege patch so our family can be self sustainable in fruit and veg. I have an intermittent watercourse running through the property which presents some challenges in certain areas with flooding. The soil is loamy with a clay base. We get very hot summers and frosty winters making it difficult to get some trees established. This is certainly a trial and error process for me learning what I can and can't grow in this area. I have been struggling with trying to grow subtropical fruits, they do well during the summer but our frosty winters knock them back.  I am about half way to having everything planted that I want.
