Vine lost its leaves in April , before any real cool weather. After a record Cairns winter with several nights down to 7c bud burst was slow, no sign of life till early October. Mid November, vine is growing vigorously and there are tiny flower clusters on 1/2 a dozen lateral shoots. Will it fruit in Cairns? watch this space!

All the flowers have fallen off now. Was it the 42c heatwave in late Nov or just that the vine is still too small ? Cordons are growing vigorously but only a handful of lateral buds have sprouted. Maybe next year?

Fig - Sandpaper (Cutting) 10/10

Frankenmango1's Edible Fruits
Update: 2202 days 8hrs

Comments: - Fruited immediately after arrival, purchased from Daleys. First couple of fruit dropped off, placed it next to my fruiting local Ficus opposita for cross pollination. Resulting handful of fruit large (grape sized) and lovely tangy strawberry flavour. No splitting even during a near record Cairns Wet Season. I pinched out the top and it is shooting and setting fruit again.

Mango - Keitt (Grafted)

Frankenmango1's Edible Fruits
Update: 2203 days 5hrs

Comments: - Who doesn't like Mangos? I have a huge old Common tree in my yard, I am in the process of Topworking it with Brooks, Keitt, KP, R2E2 and NamDocMai, that's where the Frankenmango name comes from. Plan is to have Mangos early thru late on the same large tree; with the odd off season fruit that the remnant Common branches tend to produce up here I should have mangos 6 or 8 months of the year!
