Plant (marcot) arrived in May 2020 in great condition with soil still damp. Will plant this into a pot after 1-2 weeks outside and provide updates.

Spring 2021 - Has put on most of new growth at the bottom of the plant (?pretty sure this is not from rootstock or anything as plant is a marcot). Very slow growing.

Update: 919 days 20hrs

Comments: -

Plant arrived in Feb 2020 in great condition with soil still damp. Will plant this into a pot after 1-2 weeks outside and provide updates.

May 2020 - Has put on several inches of new growth. The rootstock seems reasonably active - keep finding new shoots and leaves from it.

Spring 2021 - Has flowered and fruited for the first time this year - currently holding onto ~8 fruit (cut the rest off). Now in 45L planter bag. Leaves easily burnt by sun - under shade cloth to avoid this. Also remains very top heavy since purchase - needing a stake, still waiting for trunk to strenghten & am continuing to prune branches to lighten the load.

Plant arrived in in Feb 2020 in great condition with soil still damp. Will plant this into a pot after 1-2 weeks outside and provide updates.

Winter 2020 - Was brought inside every night to avoid frosts.

Jan-March 2021 - Has put on new growth. Now in 25L planter bag. Set ~10 flowers, but again no fruit.

September 2021 - Survived Toowoomba winter outside (under shade cloth so frost wouldn't settle). Now can see some new shoots.

Plant arrived in in Feb 2020 in great condition with soil still damp. Will plant this into a pot after 1-2 weeks outside and provide updates.

May 2020 - No new growth or changes since potting. Bought a second seedling in May. We will see how they cope with winter in Toowoomba - may have to bring it inside on cool nights.

Winter 2020 - brought inside every night a temp <5 degrees was predicted.

Spring 2021 - Continued to slowly put on growth. Now in 25L pots. Had a problem with scale earlier this year. Dealt with by hand neem oil / soap spray. Survived winter outside in Toowoomba (under shade cloth to prevent frost settling), unlike 2x madrono plants which died due to the cold (odd as they were ?meant to be more cold hardy).

Dwarf Avocado - Pinkerton (A) (Grafted)

1010501's Edible Fruits
Update: 928 days 14hrs

Comments: -

Plant arrived in in Feb 2020 in great condition with soil still damp. Will plant this into a pot after 1-2 weeks outside and provide updates.

May 2020 - No growth or changes in tree until the leaves all started slowly dropping in April - I think I wasn't watering enough out of fear of root rot. However new buds formed as the last leaves were coming off and there is now new growth. We will see how it copes with winter in Toowoomba - may have to bring it inside on cool nights. There has already been a night of 5 degs - I'm wondering whether some of the new buds have been damaged (turned grey).

Winter 2020 - Brought to Brisbane out of fear of Toowoomba winter causing damage. Unfortunately a possum stripped the plant of every leaf!

Autumn 2021 - has rebounded well since possum attack. Had a scare when repotted into 45L planter bag from 30cm plastic pot. Noticed fungus gnats buzzing around soil. Turns out the planter bags drain poorly when positioned directly on concrete/soil. Once pot feet (improvised short sections of PVC pipe) were added, problem was solved.

September 2021 - Currently in 45L planter bag. Survived Toowoomba winter outside in pot with minimal leaf loss (under shade cloth so no frost could settle). Currently having flush of new growth.

Panama Berry (Cutting)

Update: 928 days 14hrs

Comments: -

Plant arrived in Feb 2020 in great condition with soil still damp. Will plant this into a pot after 1-2 weeks outside and provide updates.

May 2020 - This plant has grown rapidly, almost tripled in size since potting.  We will see how it copes with winter in Toowoomba - may have to bring it inside on cool nights.

Winter 2020 - brought to Brisbane as worried it wouldn't cope with Toowoomba winter. Unfortunately a possum stripped the plant of every single leaf!

Spring 2020 - Did regrow some leaves, but eventually died ?failed recovery vs needs a bigger pot (in 25cm pot).

Dec 2020 - Purcharsed and planted new panama berry seedling in 25L pot.

September 2021 - Grew as fast as the first seedling. Survived Toowoomba winter outside in pot - looks pretty unhappy (yellowing leaves) but has new growth. Will have a low threshhold to re-pot into 45L planter bag if continuing to look unhappy during Spring.

Dwarf Peach (Seedling)

1010501's Edible Fruits
Update: 928 days 14hrs

Comments: -

Plant arrived in Feb 2020 in great condition with soil still damp. Will plant this into a pot after 1-2 weeks outside and provide updates.

May 2020 - Was mildly sunburnt just after purchase and potting. Although it arrived full and bushy the tree has gradually dropped most of its leaves - perhaps due to the sunburn or winter approaching (if Apr-May isn't too early for this). It is still holding onto a few leaves and beginning to produce new ones - just looking a little straggly currently (photo uploaded).

September 2021 - Has grown (branched) but remains a compact ~30cm height. Flowered for the first time this August - nil fruit set. Suffering from some peach leaf curl - however not on a high percentage of leaves. Currently in 20L pot.

May 2020 - Has put on a reasonable amount of new growth. Trying to grow in pot - up a stake temporarily before a final place has been decided for it to grow on. September 2021 - In 25L pot. Set many fruit, however dropped them all and lost all leaves over winter (Toowoomba). Brought plant inside every night last year, but did not this year. Currently appears dead.

Spring 2020 - Flowered set one fruit (which dropped).

September 2021 - Now in 25L pot. Flush of new growth & flowers now (will knock these off), however has been slow growing - likely due to allowing to fruit last year and growing in a pot. Survived 2x Toowoomba winters with no damage (under shade cloth so frost couldn't settle).

We will see how it copes with winter in Toowoomba - may have to bring it inside on cool nights

Plant arrived in Feb 2020 in great condition with soil still damp. Will plant this into a pot after 1-2 weeks outside and provide updates.

May 2020 - A few days after receiving the leaves began yellowing and dropping off until only one remained. I realised that the taproot was poking out the bottom of the pot in which it was received. After repotting the plant reapidly improved and produced new leaves with no more losses. We will see how it copes with winter in Toowoomba - may have to bring it inside on cool nights.

Winter 2021 - Grew rapidly to 1.5m in 45L planter bag and was flowering. Badly damaged in hail storm in early winter, then proceeded to die (likely also damaged by the cold in Toowoomba)

Spring 2020: After being brought in every night during winter, now growing well.

September 2021: Both died over winter in Toowoomba (left outside). Interestingly, the Achachas survived.

TRIED BUT DIED

Blueberry - Biloxi (Cutting)

Update: 928 days 14hrs

Plant arrived in Feb 2020 in great condition with soil still damp. Will plant this into a pot after 1-2 weeks outside and provide updates.

Planted in Rose, Gardenia, Azalea and Camellia potting mix - after a few weeks had some trouble with leaves turning yellow with green veins and browing of leaf tips. pH testing showed the soil had a neutral pH close to 7. Added some urea to the soil and have gradually seen improvment in the leaves. Flower buds forming May 2020.

Jan 2021 after flowering and fruiting (much less prolifically than blueberry burst & kisses), the plant unfortunately died - likely a combination of inconsistent watering over a hot summer & ?soil pH too high.

Planted in Rose, Gardenia, Azalea and Camellia potting mix - after a month or two had some trouble with leaves turning yellow with green veins, to a lesser extent than the biloxi variety. pH testing showed the soil had a neutral pH close to 7.
