About My Edible Backyard

Why Tranquilwaters Love's Edible Plants

Have moved from a glorious bush acreage back onto a small suburban block in Port Macquarie.  The block has mostly red volcanic loam with some dark brown loam at the bottom of the block.  Soil is acid and very deep.

The gardens enjoy all aspects and the biggest challenge is learning how to fit everything we want onto this tiny patch of rich soil.

Annual rainfall is around 1400 ml with an average temperature of between 13 and 22 although it can get down to -2 C in winter and up to around 43  C on the odd occasion.

Delicious fruit. Maximum of 8 fruit per season so far but has been in a pot for four years and has been a little neglected.  Finally put into the ground and we will buy two more to plant next to it so they can be easily netted if required.
