About My Edible Backyard

Why Jaffa Love's Edible Plants

I really love being able to just go into the garden to find my food! We have land and water ...so I really want to make the miost of being so fortunate! I grew up on an orchard and have such wonderful memories of the abundant food supply.

My biggest challenge is lack of time and being pulled in too many direction. Sometime it is having too much water and too much growth.

Jaffa's Edible Fruits
Update: 4994 days 16hrs

Comments: -

The trees were here when we moved in! They look quite old, and they require no real attention...but they give such a fantastic nut. The black cockatoos have now discovered them but there are plenty for everyone including the rats!

Fruiting Months February, March, April, May, June

Planted: 2003

Height 5 metres

Qty: 5

Sun/Shade: Full Sun

Water Given in: Summer

Pollination: No

Fertiliser or Organics Used: used to get cow poo until we moved the fence to exclude the cows.

When I Fertilise: Never

Pest Control:

We have never done anything except let the chooks rummage underneath.

Question:

We do occasionally get rotten nuts wheere half the nut goes brown, is this something I need to do something about?
