About My Edible Backyard

Why Jane2 Love's Edible Plants

Edible plants are the best way to get children gardening.  What better way to encourage them than to let them eat their way through the garden!

I don't have a garden yet - it is still a building site - but in one little, wet corner, I have mint and parsley growing.  These two gems keep me going!  The parsely is great in so many dishes and my favorite trick with mint is to turn it into a lemon-mint sorbet that takes care of those sore throats before they turn nasty.

I don't have a back yard yet - it is still a building site, but in one little wet corner, I have managed to grow mint and parsley.  I love mint! It is easy to grow and makes my lamb taste so good.  I am looking forward to getting my garden done and I will definately be adding a small lemon tree.  By boiling mint in a pot with some water and sugar and adding some lemon and freezing, I make a lovely lemon-mint sorbet that takes care of those sore throats before they turn into anything worse!
