About My Edible Backyard

Why Bonjanella Love's Edible Plants

My love of edible plants stems from inolvement in my father's gardening efforts to provide for the family in the post war years when rationing limited the food supply.

My own experience as a young father on very limited income led me to grow as great a variety of edibles as possible.

Love of fresh vegetable and fruit has passed on to my children who as pre-schoolers knew how to harvest and eat sweetcorn, globe artichokes, asparagus etc.

I firmly believe in producing one's own food as much as possible; in eating what is in season and growing or buying what can be locally grown.
