The newly rippening berries looked and smelled familiar to me, so I tried a ripe one about an hour ago. It tasted sweet with a pair-like texture. Mulberry - Black English 9/10![]() Update: 4706 days 1hrs Comments: - Our tree is huge and graceful. Its beautiful to look at and beautiful to eat.We prune off the dead canes from the inside each year, and its about 3m2 inside now. My kids use it for a cubby house:)The fruit ripens in waves; raining berries for about 3 days, then next to none for the next 3-5 days. While the berries are falling, we put a sheet under the tree, and the first ones dont have time to spoil before the berry shower ends.Apart from fresh handfuls straight off the tree, we like to blend the berries with a little sugar and pour over vanilla ice-cream. A favourite summer treat! Fruiting Months January, October, November, December Height 6 metres Growing: In the Ground Qty: 1 Sun/Shade: Full Sun Water Given in: Spring Pruned By: 20% in Pollination: Self Pollination When I Fertilise: Never Pest Control:
