About My Edible Backyard

Why Melbgrower Love's Edible Plants

Love growing anything edible or useful in anyway. Melbourne can be challenging for some plants but will give every plant a try or two.

Dwarf Avocado - Wurtz (A)

Melbgrower's Edible Fruits
Update: 4020 days 20hrs

Comments: - I have always wanted to grow an avocado. After watching Gardening Australia over the summer, Costa recommended the Wurtz variety. Bought the dwarf one from bunnings and is over a meter high. Currently in a 50Lt pot in the sun. Over winter, the leaves have started to go brown on tips. Bit worried. Wait and see.

Planted: 2013

Height 1 metres

Growing: In a Pot

Sun/Shade: Full Sun

Water Given in: Spring

Pollination: Self Pollination

When I Fertilise: Never
