Identifying Plant?

    8 responses

Roy N. starts with ...
Hi,

Currently I have found a new plant hiding among some bamboos. I was wondering whether anyone knows what this plant is.

If it is a creeper type plant, how can I train it to go through a wooden lattice (10x10cm holes)

Thanks

Looks like Wisteria to me. Pretty plant but grows into a massive beast of a vine so if it's near your house be careful it doesn't consume it.

Yes I agree, Wisteria.
You needn't worry about training it to go through the holes.
You can help if you want or else stand back & watch it cover the lattice.
I have one growing over dog wire strung between posts.
Wistera comes in various colours types & the flowers look good.

I agree - wisteria. Your lattice wont work - it's too flimsy. These guys can crack most support posts and have invasive roots - keep away from house foundations and sewer. Prune it to within an inch of it's life! but..they are soooo beautiful (i have one too)Make a stunning 'standard' .Don't let it twine around - that's how it ruins the support - guide it yourself much like a grape vine. Contain it and enjoy it!

Hi

I haven't seen any flowers and from the pictures I've seen of wisteria, I don't think that's my plant.

Can you please show me another picture of my same plant.

Thanks

Hi Roy, Just type "wisteria leaf" in Google images and you'll see thousands of them.
