I'm getting close to putting an order in for my fruit trees and I was just wondering if anyone could help me - we live in Adelaide so I want to make sure my purchases are appropriate to the climate and weather I need any pollinators or more than one tree for fruiting - alright here is my list -

Hawaiin Guava - for a pot,
African Pride Custard Applie for a pot,
Either a hazzard or a pinkerton Avacado for a pot,
female Bruno Kiwifruit and a Male Kiwifruit,
Arabica Coffee Tree for a pot.

Well What do you Think - any suggestions/Comments would be appreicated

Hi DellDGM,

First thing I would do is go to the Australia Plants by Popularity Page and on the map of Australia Click South Australia. Then to get even more specific type Adelaide. This will tell you what is most popular there.

Also you might find this tool useful:

Choosing Fruit Trees

I didn't know you could grow custard apples in pots. If you can then I am keen to try.

Also you should have a look at the panama berries:

Glad to see you are giving the coffee a go :)

Thanks Cory - you are a fountain of knowledge - just what a begginer like me needs - thank you - I am a bit confused with the choosing fruit trees tool with the pollination section does no mean no it doesn't need another plant to pollinate or no it doesn't pollinate by itselfthere fore you need two trees? - I know just call me blondy!
I got the idea of putting the custard apple from the rarefruit site and thought I would give it a go. - I only have room to plant about 4-5 fruit trees ( and thats after I masacured the front garden for more space) and with 5 little kids this will be for things like apples mandarins etc the standards but I have pleanty of places for large pots so I thought this may be a way the get the more specialised fruits for me - One can only try and see what happens. - I really appreciate all your help lately - Ta

On the Choosing Fruit Trees page

No Pollination means that the plant will fruit by itself. Yes means it does require a pollinator I suspect like apples need

Yes M&F means you need a male and female to pollinate.

I need some help for the difference between partial and beneficial. Anyone?

Wouldn't pollination be considered Beneficial to fruiting trees whether they be Partially self fertile or not?? Wouldn't Partial be better described as "Maybe" "in specific climates"?? Beneficial as "required""for best results".
