About My Edible Backyard

Why Firefly1 Love's Edible Plants

There is absolutely nothing like the flavour of freshly picked produce - you soon realize that supermarket fruit and vegetable "freshness" cannot compare.

We were totally surprised to have a good first crop just a few months after planting.  We received about 4 punnets off three canes.  Looking forward to next season.

Flowered shortly after planting, removed the flowers to let it grow - since then haven't had any more flowers, but a constant battle with leaf curl - obviously all the removal of the new growth is affecting flowering.

The tree is producing a massive amount of fruit.  We tasted our first fruit in the first season. I left 6 on and 1 came to maturity.   I have had to strip the tree of the fruit because the production is far out weighing the age and capibility of the tree.  This year which is its second season, I will leave 6 fruit on each main branch.  June - currently in flower with fruit.
