Nashi Pear - Tropical Sunshu (Grafted)

Espaliered. 4th year and no fruit but think that was because I moved the plant earlier this year. Will bag fruit to protect from fruit fly. Apparently this fruit stores well, one reason why I picked it.

Finally, 6 fruit due to be harvested mid 2019!

Lime - West Indian Seedling (Seedling) 8/10

Malanda231's Edible Fruits
Update: 1899 days 11hrs

Comments: - Taste is tangy and smaller than tahitian. First couple of years it focused on establishing itself (bushiness) then by 4th year height has taken effect and getting only a small amount of crop and flowering. There are thorns. Espaliered, but not as easy to compared to my other citrus as branches are stiffer.

Dwarf Mandarin - Imperial 9/10

Malanda231's Edible Fruits
Update: 1899 days 11hrs

Comments: - Espaliered. Did not fruit until 3rd year of planting (I assume it was establishing itself). One dwarf is not enough in long run if there are two or more people in household who like mandarins. Have heard it can produce lower harvest bi-yearly but not seen that happen yet.

Comments: - Espaliered. I like this more than the meyer as more like your tradional lemon. Not as bushy as other citrus (more strangly). Fruits throughout the year with a break in hottest part of summer.

Black Sapote - Chocolate (Grafted) 6/10

Malanda231's Edible Fruits
Update: 1899 days 11hrs

Comments: - Espaliered. Takes a few years of growth before trunk is thick enough for tree to hold fruit. Only one fruit last summer at 4y mark. I see both male and female flowers, female come out later (early november when I spotted this). Rainforest tree, roots do spread in yard in cool/wet/mulched spots so I would be careful to not plant too close to a structure as not sure if roots would expand and damage. Must trim regularly in summer to keep it small. Was told grafted versions grew shorter and less aggressively than seedlings. Hope I get more fruit this year, a pretty waxy leaved plant.

Dwarf Custard Apple - Tropic Sun (Grafted) 10/10

Malanda231's Edible Fruits
Update: 1899 days 11hrs

Comments: - Espaliered, looks awesome - took well to this and friends have commented. Love the fruit, not gritty/grainy like some other custard apples and small seeds too. No need to hand pollinate. Downside is that all of the fruit comes at once, quickly over a month from mid-feb to march in Brisbane. Must bag/net to protect from fruit fly - unripe fruit drops leading up to harvest as a natural thinning method so I bag by Feb and find fruit only start to get stung two weeks after the very first fruit drops. I harvest fruit to freeze the pulp to use later. Amazing with vanilla ice cream. I took a gamble with limited info online when I got this tree - it is a winner!!! I don't know why someone could not like the taste.

Peachcot Ora A (Grafted) 8/10

Malanda231's Edible Fruits
Update: 1899 days 11hrs

Comments: - Espaliered, not sure if that or vase shape will work best yet as planted 6 months ago. Awarded with two fruit for taste test in first year - sweeter than apricot but not as strong as some peaches and doesn't go sour on multiple chews. The stone was small compared to the fruit - a winner in my eyes. Must bag fruit to protect from fruit fruit fly - I knew this before I purchased the plant. Grows quickly.

Dwarf Apple - Tropic Sweet (Grafted) 8/10

Malanda231's Edible Fruits
Update: 1899 days 11hrs

Comments: -

Espaliered, pretty flowers at front entrance with dwarf golden dorsett and nashi pear. Good snack sized fruit within six months of purchase. Must bag/net to protect from fruit fly... best time to harvest is when fruit drops into bag. I bag fruit when slightly larger than my thumb as some fruit drops before then, as prior to that it is too easy to damage tieing the bag on and you need to do your thinning. Won mother-in-law over so got her a tree for christmas. So much nicer tasting than store-bought fruit. I want an Anna tree one day too.

Most interested in seeing the multiple crops happen throughout the year...

Dwarf Avocado - Lamb Hass A (Grafted)

Too early to comment as only planted a few months ago. Facing north-east with house shading tree from hot western sun in summer. Planted half in the ground and on half mound, built up soil bed to increase drainage as have clay soil.

I want to get pinkerton and wurtz to extend the harvest period further. Dwarf/semi dwarf was a must for me.
