About My Edible Backyard

Why Joe Love's Edible Plants

Hi, I live in a dormitory on a Uni Campus.  I have a small courtyard on the south side of the house that is heavily shaded from afternoon sun.  The soil is a sandy loam, but it is heavily supplemented with recycled potting mix and composted cow and sheep manure and bedding.  Our usually occurs in the summer and is about 750 mm p/a, but has been very unreliable in the last 5 years.  Lack of water is our greatest challenge.  We supplement rainfall with recycled washing water.
