Pauline Staff of Daley's Nursery says... Hi Racquel, If you are short of water for your orchard then that might explain a drying out. But if it is a seedling it could actually be a male. You could do a google search of male flowers and compare. racquels1 starts with ... I've a 2.5 yr old tree that produces plenty of catkins over last 2 seasons that dry out, producing no fruit. What could be the reason for this? racquels1 says... Hi Pauline, my apologies for the late answer. My tree was bought from Daley's and it was supposed to be grown from a cutting. It has plenty of water. It produces what seem to be just male catkins. It still is not producing any fruit but otherwise is a healthy vigorous tree. I might have to remove it and try again. I don't know why it only seems to produce one type of catkin considering it was grown from a cutting by you guys.
