I've a 2.5 yr old tree that produces plenty of catkins over last 2 seasons that dry out, producing no fruit. What could be the reason for this?

Hi Racquel, If you are short of water for your orchard then that might explain a drying out. But if it is a seedling it could actually be a male. You could do a google search of male flowers and compare.

Hi Pauline, my apologies for the late answer. My tree was bought from Daley's and it was supposed to be grown from a cutting. It has plenty of water. It produces what seem to be just male catkins. It still is not producing any fruit but otherwise is a healthy vigorous tree. I might have to remove it and try again. I don't know why it only seems to produce one type of catkin considering it was grown from a cutting by you guys.
