Hoop Pine Negative/positive effects

    1 responses

mylesyoung starts with ...
Im planting a hilltop nutrient catchment area which will feed the rest of my system down the slope, and wanted to plant hoop pines.

I've ben doing some research lately trying to find any information on if hoop pines do any damage to soils (ie; leeching negative things either in or out) but cant find any solid information.
Thought id just throw it out to anyone who may have a deeper knowledge.

I've never heard anything to that effect, Myles. They don't suppress each other in plantations like Silky Oak do. And Hoop Pine plantations generally have a thriving rainforest understorey regeneration. Hope that helps
