ID of interesting tree

I bought a branch of a fruiting tree from a Sydney florist and, as she spoke little English, all she could tell me was the name in Cantonese & said that it was called a Cow Tree in English! I hope that one of your staff can identify it for me. The fruit is bright yellow and looks almost like plastic - the young fruit is green.A friend suggested it may be of the Achacha family but images sighted indicate they are darker in colour and have definite rind ... mine appear to be empty inside. Hope someone can help to identify this critter.

I think it is the cow udder, or nipple fruit Solanum mammosum, related to eggplants. There was a large tree of this plant in the Cairns Bot Garden years ago. Sort of like a 30 foot eggplant with a 40 cm trunk at the base.
Usually the fruit have 3 or 4 teats on the end.
Should have small seeds like an eggplant, but could be seedless.

Thank you SO much, jakfruit etiquette. This is EXACTLY what it is. The original branch looked just like the web photos, but mine was the poor relative of the original, which was sold by the time I went back to the florist. The seeds are available online ... am thinking of ordering some and cornering the market but, at the age of 74, I probably won't be alive to see this fabulous plan come to fruition. Many thanks for your input.

I dont think they take that long to fruit,I think it can be grown like eggplants, or ornamental Solanums, maybe fruit in 1 or 2 years. I think the plant in Cairns just kept going for years.
